Junior Business Enterprise
2iE’s Junior Business Enterprise is a student organization that provides trainees with a professionalizing practical framework to apply their acquired theoretical competences. As a truly efficient incubator, it offers entrepreneurial students relevant tools. Interested students are monitored to develop their business plan and can integrate the business incubator after completion to start their own businesses.
This first contact with company realities requires entrepreneurship, innovation and management from students and they are offered important tools to understand the workplace.
2iE’ 20-year-old Junior Business Enterprise program is one of the first in Sub Saharan Africa. There were 4 Junior Business
- Junior Business Enterprise “Water and Sanitation”, specialized in water, infrastructures and Information System Application
- Junior Business Enterprise “Challenge”, specialized in civil engineering, water supply, sanitation, hydro-agricultural planning, roads and topography
- Junior Business Enterprise “TRAVA”, specialized in land management, hydraulics, infrastructures and civil engineering structures
- Junior Business Enterprise “GIEA”, specialized in computer sciences, water, sanitation, infrastructures and energy
The turnover of 2iE’s Junior Enterprises exceeded 40,000 € in 2008. For 2009/2010, five Junior Business Enterprises have been created.
For 2009/2010, competition is enhanced with the creation of 5 offices. The target turnover is 50,000 Euros!
