2iE’s Student Associations

There are various student associations which participate in socializing and integrating newcomer students at 2iE.

In addition, socio-educative and sports activities are organized by association. Besides, a quality environment and human resources have earned 2iE basket ball team higher education 2009 championship in Burkina Faso!

 

2iE’s Association of Female Students and Trainees

The Association of 2iE Female Students, Engineers and Internee whose social utility is undoubtedly certified gathers many nationalities that are working hard towards the same goal: help increase rate of African female education. Hence, young engineers focus on sensitizing parents on the necessity to educate young girls for the development of the African continent. They also follow up the latter through giving them an insight into career opportunities offered by water, environmental, energy and civil engineering. The association aims at lessening female weak representativeness in engineering schools and professional sector.

The English Language Improvement Centre

ELIC is an abbreviation for ENGLISH LANGUAGE IMPROVEMENT CENTER. ELIC is a project run by 2iE’s students. ELIC has many activities such as conversation courses, TOEFL preparation, movie night and other activities that help participants enhance English speaking skills. ELIC is always looking for new members to help sustain and promote the English language.

MAAM ME

Moreover, the association of 2iE students (male and female, MAAM ME, “me too” in Mooré, language spoken by the Mossi, majority ethnical group in Burkina Faso), is committed to empower young student parents in Kamboinsé, a dozen kilometres far from Ouagadougou, where 2iE second campus is hosted. MAAM ME is a local development stakeholder in Kamboinsé which aims at building capacities for neighbouring populations through helping them start income generating activities, in order to enable them to continue 2iE students’ actions and bear the cost of their children’s studies.
