In order to put into practice and strengthen entrepreneurship classes, 2iEorganizes or participates each year a competition of business creation This approach leads the student to test his/her leadership and challenge his/her idea.. It also allows the students to benefit from a personalized coaching and receive advises from the jury made up of teachers, sponsors and company managers.
These competitions also allow the student to mature his/her business plan in record time and to be better prepared to embark on the entrepreneurial challenge. In 2013, a 2iE’s team won the 1st Award and the People’s Choice Award of the GSVC (United States).
This 2iE internal student competition awards each year the best projects during the Enterprise Days. At the beginning, more than 50 projects are examined, but only the 5 best projects are invited for a presentation in front of an international jury and an audience of 200 people. At the end, prizes that amount up to 1 million FCFA, but also a proposal to integrate the company incubator.
The competition takes place 6 months. It consists in the drafting of a business plan, developed with the support of teachers and professionals. Workshops are organized for specific themes such as: market study, financial charts, social impact measure or the communication strategy. In 2012, Calvin NSUNFO, Prize winner of the competition with his project TECO2 won 1 million FCFA. Today he has integrated 2iE’s incubator in order to launch his business.
Business creation projects supported by 2iE are often selected in international competitions, such as: the Défi Bouygues Construction, the Challenge Humanitech, ABC Innovation, AnzishaPrize, and the Global Social Venture Competition.
Prize list 2011 – 2013 :
Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC): The GSVC is the unique global social venture competition targeted at students and young graduates. Its objective is to identify tomorrow’s great social entrepreneurs, among more than 600 projects proposed each year and give them the means of their ambitions. In 3 participations, 2iE has succeeded three times in a row in taking students to the global final, which takes place at the University of Berkeley in California.
The Challenge Bouygues Construction: the Bouygues challenge is a unique competition that gathers each year sixty students from engineering and business schools selected all over the world. These last ones meet in Paris region around a big challenge: to respond to a call for proposal within less than 24 hours! Each team must present a technical and commercial challenge which meets high criteria of sustainable development. Works are assessed by a professional jury, made up of experts of the Bouygues Group.
The Humanitech challenge: This competition awards each year the best innovative technological tools serving the humanitarian world.
