For the 10th consecutive time, 2iE’s Business Enterprise Days will gather Africa’s economic stakeholders on the same setting. Every year, a great number of quality people and business companies are attracted and empowered by this international platform. In 2014, more than a thousand attendants and 61 businesses (including corporations and institutions) fueled the forum and made profit of the opportunities that it offered.

The Privileged Society club of the 2iE Enterprise Days gathers 27 members from various sectors: energies, equipment, new technologies, banking, etc. Its members have access to numerous advantages:

Membership for the Privileged Society is awarded once the business has participated to two consecutive editions of the 2iE Enterprise Days and has met one of the following conditions:

  • Enter a partnership with at least one 2iE research program,
  • Train its staff or students with a 2iE program,
  • Take on 2iE students for internships within its structure.

As a graduate from 2iE, M. Seydou Mamadou Coulibaly created in 1991the engineering office CIRA. It is a company of Engineering and counselling that intervenes in the sectors of Transportation, Hydraulics, Civil Engineering and Environment. Being the co-sponsor of the 5th Business Enterprise Days held on May 6th and 7th 2011, M. Seydou Mamadou COULIBALY announced that he would support the organization of the editions of BED from 2011 to 2016.

Arrival in Ouagadougou

All international flights to Burkina Faso land at the international airport of Ouagadougou. Some hotels provide a shuttle service from and to the airport. Taxis are available, fares ranging from XOF2000 to XOF5000 depending on the distance and arrival time (day/night).



According to nationalities, it is mandatory to get a visa to enter Burkinabe borders. Information is available at local embassies/consulates.

Member-businesses to the 2iE Enterprise Days, as guests of the 2iE Foundation, benefit from a free visa, according to the Headquarters agreements between the government of Burkina Faso and the 2iE Foundation.


Vaccinations and Health Safety

Burkina Faso is located in a tropical area, thus it is advised to take appropriate measures for malaria, even for short stays (consult a doctor). Moreover, yellow fever vaccine is mandatory to enter the country and an international Certificate of Vaccination will be required at border control.



A list of hotels certified by the Secretariat can be provided. Preferential fees may be arranged for interested participants. 


Money and Exchange Rate

Burkina Faso is part of the franc zone. The currency is the CFA franc (currency code XOF). €1 = XOF 655.957.

ATMs are available in town, note that many do not accept MasterCard and it is advised to prepare cash before departure to Burkina Faso. VISA cart-holders will not encounter any troubles.



During 2ie Enterprise Days, speakers get – besides coffee breaks – two lunches in the 2iE air-conditioned restaurant. This offer is exclusively reserved to businesses presenting and registered, and that have provided details of the two daily beneficiaries. The other participants have access to a buffet lunch on-location – the menu may be provided upon request to the Secretariat.
