Study Environment

The Ouagadougou campus offers 12,000 sqm of educational facilities, including classrooms, lecture halls, laboratories, and research centers and experimental sites over 110 acres of campus on the sites of Ouagadougou and Kamboinsé.

Accommodation

2iE offers equipped and ventilated dormitories on both sites (Ouagadougou, Kamboinsé). In the limit of available beds, students can choose to stay in single or double rooms. Management and maintenance of these rooms are provided daily by the housekeeping staff. The institute has a capacity of 2,000 beds.

Wangari Maathai Language Centre

The Wangari Maathai Language Center is a modern language laboratory. Managed by a team of experienced teachers, it offers educational resources suitable for Language Learning. Composed of three laboratories (90 computers) distributed on Ouagadougou and Kamboinsé campuses, it enables to practice foreign languages such as English, French, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. It is equipped with teaching multimedia software (TOEFL Langmaster, Reflex Cambridge) and reference tools (electronic dictionaries, appropriate webography, course resources, journals, etc…). The new registered students are subject to an evaluationt test in order to distribute them into groups by level.

Information resource center

The Information resource center gives access to over 28,000 books: scientific and technical journals, handouts and reference works as well. It allows to extend knowledge acquired in theoretical and practical training modules. All themes that 2iE is dealing with are covered: water and sanitation, energy and electricity, civil engineering and mining, environmental and managerial sciences.

2iE Kumba has signed Headquarters Agreement with the Government of Cameroon, which facilitates the hosting conditions to students, teachers and the management staff (including the visa).

The campus includes 120 students on a 3 hectare site. Recently renovated infrastructures include platforms for practical lessons equipped with modern hydraulic and topography facilities.

A computer room enables students to write reports and access the Internet for their bibliographic research.

The current development project foresee additional investments to welcome, train and accommodate about 300 students by 2015. A new site is under construction.
