HIERARCHY AND POSITION IN THE FACULTY STRUCTURE

The assistant director of the 2iE-Penn State joint center works under the orders of the two co-directors of 2iE and Penn State.
S/he assists the two co-directors in the management of the center and can be called upon to assume their duties in case of absence.

 

ACTIVITIES

The Assistant Director deals with the coordination and management of the center’s activities.
S/he will develop and maintain academic mobility programming for teams of students enrolled in the center’s activities.
S/he will also manage the use and operation of the facilities and finance of the center.
S/he will work to develop contacts and maintain exchanges between faculty and researchers of the two institutions

S/he will research and assist in the writing of grants to obtain funding for research and student mobility programming.

S/he will serve as a connecting point between 2iE and Penn State in advising students and faculty of 2iE interested in studying, performing research, or other program collaborations with Penn State.

S/he may be asked to perform other duties as determined by the Co-Directors.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The requested Assistant Director must:
be bilingual in English and French;
Have experience in handling administrative procedures of donors in relation to calls for funding;
Have sufficient expertise in administrative writing;
Have proven skills in communication and relationship activities with regards to various components of multidisciplinary teams;
Be able to balance multiple tasks at once ;
Have basic knowledge of administrative and financial management (especially projects);
Have a sense of initiative and ability to work in teams;
Be independent with a high sense of organization;

Minimum Diploma requested: Master’s degree or equivalent
